British Man Joins the Insurgency: 'I Did It For the Excitement'

A British citizen, Hemant Lakhani, goes on trial in the U.S., charged with trying to sell 50 igla anti-aircraft missiles to FBI agents he mistook for jihadis.
Lakhani, it seems, was trying to set up a deal over oil until Islamonazis promised him more cash if he helped them shoot passenger jets out of the sky. Lakhani, it seems, was more than happy to go along with this:

US Attorney Christopher Christie said the accused Briton had shown sympathy for al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden in meetings with an informant posing as the representative of a Somali militant group.
'On many occasions in recorded conversations he referred to... Osama bin Laden as a hero who had done something right and set the Americans straight,' Mr Christie told reporters after the hearing.

Having been caught red-handed, however, Lakhani started to sing a different tune:

His lawyer, Henry Klingeman, argues that his client is a victim of 'entrapment', and that anyone would be tempted to get involved in a scheme that promised a multi-million dollar pay.
'Now I’m in a trap and I don’t know how to get out,' Lakhani said. 'I’ve been a victim. I am the most unlucky man in the world. God will know if I’m innocent or guilty.'

Laughably, this is the story Kingeman and Lakhani are planning on taking to the U.S. courts -- That although Lakhani was quite happy to sell missiles to terrorists, that doesn't make him a bad person, just greedy. And callous. And immoral. With scant regard for human life.

Burying his head in his hands, Lakhani sobbed: 'Where did I go wrong? I worked so hard. I worked hard, you have no idea. I like excitement in life, not money. I enjoyed my life.'

Lakhani needn't worry. After he's convicted and sent down for 25 years, it's more than likely he'll be in for plenty of excitement. Why, if he's really lucky, he might even get to share a cell with someone called Bubba who'll want to be his special friend. Won't he enjoy that?
